Xi Yuan Hospital (XYH) of China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine (CATCM), founded in 1955 and located between the world famous Summer Palace and Yuan Ming Yuan. is directly under the Ministry of Public Health (MPH) and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SATCM). It is one of the biggest general TCM hospitals. XYH includes the First Institute of Clinical Medicine. the Institute of Gerontology and the Institute of Clinical Pharmacology of CATCM, the Research Center of Clinical Pharmacology of MPH. As a national center engaged in research, treatment, teaching and training of TCM, XYH is also a part of the International Cooperative Center of Traditional Medicine of the World Health Organization (WHO). The editorial board of Chinese journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine, the Specific Committees of Hematology of Chinese Association of Integration of Traditional and West Medicine, and the Clinical Pharmacological Society of Chinese Association of Clinical Pharmacology of Traditional Chinese Medicine are attached to the hospital.
